Banks And Crookes At Eccleshill
Eccleshill United have a new management team as they look to improve their fortunes next season.
The Plumpton Park side finished in the bottom three of KoolSport NCEL Division One last month and will be keen to do better when the new campaign comes in August.
To that end, they have brought in Ian Banks as boss with Grant Crookes as his assistant.
The duo were at league rivals AFC Emley until last month when Banks left by mutual consent.
23rd December, 2009
Eccleshill United have unveiled their new manager - and it's a former player.
Mark Senior, whose full time job is as a football coach, becomes the Plumpton Park's fifth boss of the season as they try to get off the bottom of KoolSport NCEL Division One.
He takes over from Paul Jenkinson who left the club last week.
21st December, 2009
The KoolSport NCEL's basement side, Eccleshill United, are on the search yet again for a manager.
Paul Jenkinson has left the club having been in the role for just under two months.
His replacement will be the fifth man to have been in charge of the Eagles this season.
Steve Watson began the campaign in the hotseat before he left to be replaced by Danny Bolton who stood down due to personal commitments before his first match.
Player Chris Bates was then caretaker boss until Jenkinson's appointment at the beginning of November.
5th November, 2009
Eccleshill United have unveiled Paul Jenkinson as their new first team manager.
He takes over after the original successor to Steve Watson, Danny Bolton, could not take the job due to a change in his personal circumstances.
It meant that Chris Bates remained on as caretaker boss.
But, matters have now been resolved with Club Secretary, Mark Holstead, saying of their new man: "Paul was previously in charge at West Riding Premier side Lower Hopton where he has turned the club around.
"But, he felt ready to step up and take the reins of a bigger club.
"Paul brings a desire and a commitment to stabilise the club on the field given time and take Eccleshill United forward."
His first game in charge is the home league clash against Hemsworth Miners Welfare where victory will move them off the bottom of the Division One table.

3rd October, 2009
Eccleshill United have unveiled their new management team, according to Telegraph & Argus.
Danny Bolton and his assistant Joe Richardson will be watching from the stand for today's match at home to AFC Emley in Division One.
Both are former Thackley players, and Richardson also had a spell at Liversedge, so they are well aware of Eccleshill and have a desire to bring successful times back to Plumpton Park.
Bolton was the chosen candidate from the eight on the Eagles' shortlist but he was only offered the role on Wednesday.
Eccleshill secretary Mark Holstead said: "Danny has a very good background in coaching and management with Otley Town and Sandy Lane and has plans to bring new players to the club."
Bolton said: "I was extremely pleased when I was offered the manager's position and I'm still over the moon.
"Between us, we are bringing in Jason Stoney as goalkeeping coach - we are looking to improve the club on a number of fronts.
"Nothing has gone Eccleshill's way over the last few years and we want to change all that.
Speaking about Richardson, he added: "This is a new partnership but I think our coaching and personnel styles will be a good mix.
"We can both be firm and assertive but we want to introduce a lot of fun into training sessions and like to see a good bit of banter flying around.
"I hope we can tempt some players to join us in our challenge as well - we have already signed three but would like to bring ten in. Those players would be incorporated into the existing squad.
"At today's game I will introduce myself to them in the dressing room and then Joe and myself will watch the game and make a few notes.
"We will see what they are like, and then next week when we start working with them we will encourage them to strive for a first-team place."

15th September, 2009
KoolSport NCEL Division One basement side Eccleshill United have parted company with manager, Steve Watson.
He returned to the club in the summer for a second spell in charge but his departure comes after six defeats out of six and 36 goals conceded so far this season.
Senior players Andy Howland and Chris Bates have been named joint caretaker managers and the club are now inviting applications by post from those interested in becoming the Eagles' next boss.
The address is: Mr M A Holstead, Club Secretary, 19 Kingsdale Crescent, Bradford, BD2 4DD.
24th July, 2009
A striker, who plied his trade in the NCEL with Eccleshill United, has signed a two-year contract at League Two side, Bradford City.
21-year-old James Hanson has made the move into the pro ranks after a spell at UniBond Premier side, Guiseley.
Hanson told the Telegraph & Argus: "I am absolutely delighted to get a deal. It's a dream come true.
"It certainly beats working until 10 o'clock at night.
"I've been working part-time at the Co-op near me and it's just been fitting in with my semi-professional career.
"I've still got to work my week's notice though and I don't finish there until Wednesday.
"I'm still coming to terms with it to be honest, playing with the sort of players that are here. It is a big step up but I'm more than confident I can make it."

23rd June, 2009
The new Eccleshill United manager will be used to his surroundings, writes the Telegraph & Argus.
Steve Watson is returning for a second spell in charge after winning what turned out to be a four-horse race for the hot seat.
Eagles secretary and spokesman Mark Holstead said: "Steve has unfinished business at Plumpton Park.
"He took the club as high as third place in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division during his last stint before losing key players.
"The club looked set for success the last time Steve was in charge before the players were taken by clubs higher up.
"To say Steve lost players of that calibre, it was no surprise our fortunes started to slip at the time. That is part of the reason why he wants another crack at the job. He talks a lot of sense and he is a passionate man.
"He shares our vision for the club in the coming seasons and he is prepared to knuckle down and put the hard work in. Every time he has come in front of the committee he has ticked all the right boxes.
"Steve felt hard done by in his last spell and a lot of people in the game speak extremely highly of him. We feel we have made the right choice and we hope he will have a long and successful tenure."
There is no news yet on who will be assistant manager at Plumpton Park.
